History

Year	Details
1966	York Township Public Library completes plans for a new branch on Trowell Avenue at Keele Street.
1968	Opened by the York Public Library Board, 18 February. Banz, Brook, Carruthers, Grierson, Shaw Architects. Named in honour of Evelyn Gregory, Chief Librarian of York Township/Borough of York Public Library, 1945-1969.
1971	Hours of service extended with the branch opening on Wednesdays.
1981	Hours reduced with Monday closings.
2007	New hours, 8 January. Hours open per week decreased from 51.5 to 50.5.

Evelyn Gregory is on Indigenous land. This is the traditional territory of the Haudenosaunee (ho-den-oh-sho-nee) Confederacy (aka. the Six Nations Confederacy), the Wendat, and the Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation.
