Toronto Public Library, in partnership with the City of Toronto and Toronto Seniors Housing, has started a new program to help boost seniors’ digital literacy skills.
Today, Mayor John Tory announced that Toronto Public Library (TPL) is eliminating late fines for everyone, removing a barrier to access and making the library more welcoming to all Torontonians.
TPL will temporarily close 44 branches as of Monday, January 10 due to COVID-19 related staffing shortages. Fifty-two of TPL’s largest and most-used library branches will remain open and staff from closed locations will be reassigned to these branches.
Beginning September 22, 2021, the Province of Ontario will require people to be fully vaccinated and show proof of their vaccination status to access certain businesses and settings.
