Summary/Review: Set in 1970, this gripping dystopian tale creates a nightmare scenario in which an unnamed European country has been overtaken by fascist totalitarianism. Although little is known about the author of Meccania -it is presumed that 'Owen Gregory' is an assumed name-critics today praise the prescience of his insight into a Europe that might have been if the outcomes of World Wars I and II had been different.
