Tranquillity base: The Halton Hills Centre; a Milton convention centre; looks more like a nice country home than a spot for seminars and business meetings; but more than 50 groups have used it since it opened; after some renovations; last summer.

More than 10;000 items are included in the virtually unknown Ontario Agricultural Museum opened in 1975 on 92 acres near Milton. Because of provincial budget restraints; it still won't be open to visitors on weekends. Displays range from antique steam tractors to pioneer farm utensils. Bob Carbert; museum general manager; stands beside the Adam Beck Circus Truck; used by the Ontario Hydro pioneer personally to demonstrate the benefits of power of farmers. Truck was built in 1916.

Cramped culvert: Police searched this culvert for the body and were convered in mud in the process. The search; which did not produce a body; is said to have cost $30;000.

Pioneer Wagon train rolls along Derry Rd. as it passes through Milton and Mississauga yesterday on its way to opening of Canadian National Exhibition tomorrow. Caravan of 18 wagons; 2 buggies and about 75 outriders has crossed more than half a continent at its member's own expense to help boost the Ex; members said. Wagon train - a revival of United States Bicentennial Wagon Train that crossed U.S. two years ago - began its 50-mile trek from Queenston Friday.
