Pony cart rides were one of the events of the fair staged by Mennonites Saturday in New Hamburg to raise more than $90,000 for the Mennonite Central Committee to spend on relief work in 35 countries. The committee's world budget is $6,250,000, about half of it in clothes, bedding and other articles made or given by Mennonite families. Five thousand pies were sold, hundreds of hand-made quilts were auctioned for prices ranging up to $835, far ahead of last year's top, $545.
