Declaring they are the forgotten victims of the 37-day-old strike by Metro secondary-school teachers, 28 students picket outside York Memorial Collegiate yesterday. They joined striking teachers, who thought at first the students had come to support them, but the young people hope to organize student pressure to bring a settlement of the strike. One youth's placard indicates he thinks he may lose his year, and spend six years instead of the five to finish collegiate.

Almost one-third of Forest Hill Collegiate's 900 students are enrolled in classes at Holy Blossom Temple on Bathurst St., where 16-year-old David Speigel, a prefect at Forest Hill, instructs a French class. As the secondary-school teachers' strike continues, more and more students are attending the classes, which are led by senior students, prefects and volunteers from the general community.
