The Bata Shoe Museum is one of North America's unique institutions. Dedicated to the research and exhibition of the role of footwear in the social and cultural life of humankind, Bata Shoe Museum holds an international collection of over 13,000 shoe-related artifacts from every corner of the globe. Opened in 1995 in the award-winning building designed by renowned architect Raymond Moriyama, the museum offers four impressive galleries. Bata's permanent gallery, All About Shoes, spans more than 4,500 years of history and includes a collection of 20th century celebrity shoes. Special exhibitions in the other three galleries change regularly, so there is always something new to see.
