Getting Started with HSTalks
HSTalks (Henry Stewart Talks Ltd.) offers unlimited streaming access to online lectures, case studies and interviews by world leading experts covering various topics in biomedical, life sciences, business, and management.
What you need
- A valid Toronto Public Library card
- A computer with an internet connection
- A wireless internet connection (for streamimg on mobile devices to avoid incurring data charges)
What type of content is available?
HSTtalks offers two subject area collections:
- The Business & Management Collection which includes over 1000 online lectures, case studies, and interviews by leading experts from academia, industry and commerce
- The Biomedical & Life Science Collection which includes over 2400 seminar-style talks organized by subject categories and therapeutic areas

Creating an account is optional, but you will need one of you want to save lectures to watch at another time. HSTalks is a third-party service that is governed by its own Privacy Policy.

No, there is no limit to the number of lectures you can access.
- Can the lectures be downloaded?

Currently only streaming content is available.

An app is not available but the site is mobile-friendly.
- Do the videos have accessibility features?

Yes. You can adjust font size, change contrast levels, etc. Video materials published or updated after January 1, 2015 have subtitles. - Are there other resources included with the lectures?

Lectures include printable handouts in PDF format, links to websites and citation information. You can also access transcripts, make notes, and download slides.
- How often is new content added?

New material is added each month. Content is regularly viewed and updated.
- Can the content be embedded?

Videos can be embedded in a Word document, Power Point presentation, email message, or virtual learning system such as Moodle, Blackboard, or Sakai.
- Do the lectures have public performance rights?
