Thu Apr 15, 2021
2:30 p.m. - 3:15 p.m.
45 mins

Saumiya Balasubramaniam's debut picture book, When I Found Grandma, was featured in The Globe and Mail ("Seven books to help kids make sense of the world") and by the CBC ("29 Canadian kids' books and YA to look for"), as well as selected as one of Toronto Public Library's First & Best titles for 2019.

Saumiya will share an anecdote of how the story came to be, and what inspires her to write.

She will read the book, followed by a show-and-tell of objects/cultural references in the story. She will then talk a little about the process and the craft of writing.

This live program is suitable for children 4-8 years, with a parent or caregiver.

This is a featured Spring Break Author Talk program.
