Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, this event has been cancelled. While we're working to reschedule as many events as possible, no new dates have currently been determined.

Ripple Foundation presents a creative writing program focused on improving the writing skills of children and youth. Creative writing encourages participants to use their imagination and exercise their creative minds. Through writing, participants can express their feelings, opinions and assert themselves, helping strengthen their self-confidence.

The Write It Workshops are intended for youth in Grades 4-8.

Monday, August 24: Brainstorm Bonanza - The purpose of this workshop is to teach participants how to brainstorm story ideas effectively.

Tuesday, August 25: Mixed Bag Mayhem - The purpose of this workshop is to teach participants about the importance of characters and character development in storylines.

Wednesday, August 26: Plotline Play-By-Play - The purpose of this workshop is to teach participants about the role of plot structure in stories.

Thursday, August 27: Details! Details! - The purpose of this workshop is to show participants how descriptive details enhance stories and engage readers through elements that stimulate the senses and add interest.

Friday, August 28: Stay on Track - The purpose of this workshop is to show participants how an effective story has a main idea that readers can follow from the beginning through to its conclusion.

There are 5 workshops in this series. Children are encouraged to attend all 5 workshops, but it is not mandatory.
