Summer Makers: Fun with Arts and STEM

Join us for six weekly Thursday afternoons at 2pm for simple hands-on science, arts and nature creative activities, guided by library staff. This program is suitable for families looking for STEM and art-related activities. Recommended for ages 4-12. Thursdays, 2-3pm: July 11, 18, 25, August 1, 8, 15. Children under 6 may need their caregiver's help with the craft.

Drop in. No registration is required. Note that we are not able to accommodate large groups for this program.

Week 1. Thursday July 11
NEWSPAPER FORTRESS
Come make the largest possible structure out of recycled newspaper with your friends.

Week 2. Thursday July 18
CARNIVAL MASK-MAKING
Create and decorate your own mask to get in the Carnival spirit!

Week 3. Thursday July 25
LIFE DRAWING OPEN STUDIO
Practice your observational drawing skills by drawing your friends. Kids will take turns posing for others to sketch.

Week 4. Thursday August 1
CARIBANA MARACAS MAKING
Make your own Maracas for this Summer's Caribana.

Week 5. Thursday August 8
CARDBOARD FORT MAKING
Build your fortress from cardboard boxes with your friends.

Week 6. Thursday August 15
PAINT YOUR CARDBOARD FORTRESS
Decorate your creation from the previous week with colourful paint.
