YA Author Talk with Christina Kilbourne

Mon Apr 26, 2021
2:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m.
60 mins

Christina Kilbourne is an award-winning author of Young Adult novels, including Dear Jo, which won three provincial young readers' choice awards in the same year (Manitoba, Saskatchewan and British Columbia). Her writing has been translated into Slovenian, Ukrainian, Portuguese and Spanish.

Christina's novels focus on issues of child welfare and social justice and aim to convey messages of tolerance and compassion. Christina believes that behind every novel, there is a story. In this presentation, Christina will be discussing how the mysterious death of a friend led her to write her Red Maple-nominated novel, Safe Harbour.

She also welcomes questions about her books, the writing process and getting published.
