Nora Gold is the prize-winning author of three books. "Marrow and Other Stories" won a Canadian Jewish Book Award and praise from Alice Munro. "Fields of Exile" won the inaugural Canadian Jewish Literary Award. "The Dead Man" was praised internationally, received a Translation Grant from Canada Council, and was published in Hebrew this summer. Additionally, Gold coordinates the Wonderful Women Writers Series at Deer Park Library and edits the online literary journal JewishFiction.net (which has readers in 140 countries).

"The Dead Man" is a beautiful, compelling novel about Eve, a feminist composer who - for no apparent reason - can't recover from a relationship that ended five years before. Then, during a one-week trip, she discovers the dark mystery behind her obsession, and everything begins to change. In this talk, Gold will discuss her novel and obsessive love, illustrating her points by reading short excerpts. There will be ample time for discussion.
