My talk concerns the interplay between actual historical figures and the tale the novel tells. The illustrated talk fits this novel based on Toronto's history, within Toronto's history itself. "It took so great a labour," Vergil writes, "to build the walls of Rome." That work (translated to Toronto) is our story here.
