Celebrate National Poetry Month with acclaimed writer and poet Gary Barwin.

Participants will experience a range of approaches to writing poems through a series of surprising and inspiring writing activities as well as a performance by Barwin. The workshop will be a lively exploration of what's possible in poetry.

The author of 21 books of poetry and fiction, Gary Barwin's bestselling novel, Yiddish for Pirates won the Stephen Leacock Medal for Humour, the Canadian Jewish Literary Award, and was shortlisted for the Scotiabank Giller Prize and the Governor General's Award. His poetry has been widely presented, published, and broadcasted, and has won the Hamilton Literary Award three times. He was a judge of the CBC Poetry Prize and is currently Writer in Residence at McMaster University and the Hamilton Public Library.
