Given perforated bills - When a lone bandit held up the teller of the Bank of Montreal at London on Saturday, he was handed a bundle of cancelled bills with a face value of $1,200. The bandit, not knowing the bills were worthless, fled immediately the alarm was given. The layout here shows, (1) Sample of the perforated bills similar to those handed to the bandit. (2) Teller S.B. Dunn, whose presence of mind in presenting the bandit with cancelled bills saved the situation, and, (3) Head office of the Bank of Montreal at London, where the attempted hold-up occurred.
