Caption:

Ramshackle Cobalt-type Mining Camp Development. A seven-man rescue team worked until 10 a.m. today to free him and people of Cobalt, a section of which is seen here, anxiously awaited news. In the end, James Dunlop, mine accountant, said Ruddy was passed steel bars and flash lights. He used the steel bars to prop up the falling rocks and from then on it was only a matter of digging up while he dug down.
