Caption:

Eastern Ontario's first gold rush has brought prospectors from all over Canada to Arden, a town of 350 eleven miles north of the strike. Among the prospectors are at least 50 engineers, representing all the big Canadian gold mining concerns. Most residents of the town have a claim staked out, hoping to sell at fabulous prices. One claim has assayed as high as $580 a ton. The above photo shows a general view of Arden.
