Gunman Loots Brantford Bank
Armed robbery of the east end branch of the Canadian Bank of Commerce at Brantford yesterday, netted a lone masked hold-up man $643 which he scooped from the teller's cash drawer while the teller, Walter Hughes of Orangeville, was lying on the floor, as ordered by the robber. The thief made a get-away in a car. The branch bank is seen in (1) and (2) is Walter Hughes. He first thought the hold-up man was joking and said: "Don't kid me," when the man pointed a revolver. Then came the command to lie down on the floor. Police were given a description of the robber's car by Eric Kerby, age 10 (3) who saw it parked outside a nearby store.
