Caption 1: A year-round road vehicle can be made out of a snowmobile as shown at the Barrie Winter Carnival last weekend. The skis and track are replaced by a front axle and a single rear wheel. Conversion kits costs $400. Vehicle can be licensed as a motorcycle. You must be 16 to get a motorcycle drivers' license. Caption 2: Winter carnival time: The Barrie carnival, where this young lady is enjoying the great outdoors, will be held this year Feb. 16 and 17, but it's only one of a number of events put on by communities all over Ontario to relieve the gloom of winter. They range from such carnivals to presentations of Cinderella and a golf match.
