Caption 1: Look, ma, no humans. Many hands may make light work, but Honda prefers robots on the welding line of its new Alliston plant. About 700 employees will assemble 80,000 cars a year there by 1989. Today plant tours and a free picnic are planed for a "community appreciation day." Singer Tommy Hunter will perform. Caption 2: Alliston plant: Robots, but no humans, are hard at work on the welding line at Honda's Alliston plant. Up to now, critics have claimed the year-old plant is a glorified kit assembly shop. Yet one government source says the stage may now be set for something even bigger.
