Inscribed in pen and black ink, l.r.: O.S.; In pencil, l.l.: 13; Letterpress on paper label laid down below drawing: HOWARD AVENUE SCHOOL, COUNTY OF YORK. / The original school on Howard Park avenue, County of York, now / (1909) Howard street school, 74 Boustead avenue, of which Alexander Muir / was principal, 1882-85.
