Acc. X 76-60 is a later state of the etching published by T. Palser. Kent's Directory: 1812 of London lists "Harris Geo. copperplate-maker, 31, Shoe-lane". Sir George Prevost, first baronet (1767-1816), was lieutenant-governor of Nova Scotia, 1808-11, and governor-in-chief of British North America, 1811-1815. Inscribed in the plate, l.l. (reversed): G HARRIS / No 31 SHOE LANE [?] / LONDON [?]; l.l.: Pubd by Dighton Spring Gardens Novr 1812.; b.: LIEUT GENL SIR GEORGE PROVOST / GOVERNOR OF CANADA. JRR(1912) 369
