A 14th century manuscript of Aesop's fables in Latin verse. Initial letters and headlines rubricated in red ink. Rebound in vellum ca. 1780. The author of this version was Gualterus Anglicus, Chaplain to King Henry II of England and later Archbishop of Palermo, Italy. With two miniature painting in colour on the first page (Aesop as a teacher, and the cock Chanticleer). Written on vellum sheets in a Gothic book script.
