Summary/Review: In 1941, horticulturist Gwen Davis leaves London for the Devon countryside to instruct a group of girls growing crops for the home front. There she meets two people who will change her life forever: Raley, a Canadian officer waiting to be posted to the front, and Jane, a frail but free spirit whose fiancé is missing in action. Gwen finds herself facing her past and present, and when she discovers a 'lost' garden, she at last learns the joys and risks of love.
