This session is recommended for low to moderate income Canadians and provides an overview of the Canadian income tax system and how it works. Participants will learn: why you need to file a tax return and the many government assistance/benefits gained from filing a return; the difference between tax deductions and tax credits; how to prepare and file a tax return and what happens once it is filed; and the importance of the Notice of Assessment. The session includes resources available to help with filing returns. This session is provided by CPA Canada and presented by Amrit Dev, CPA
