For decades, globalization evangelists promised a world of endless growth where unfettered free trade would bring prosperity for all. But the reality is not quite what they hoped.

Real wages in North America have not risen since the 1970s. Union membership has collapsed. Full-time employment is beginning to look unachievable, and the retreat of the middle class around the world has led to intense political disruptions.

Come hear renowned economist Jeff Rubin discuss his latest book, The Expendables, where he explains why global economic inequality keeps growing, and what we can do to build economies that work for all.

Jeff Rubin is an economist and author of international bestsellers Why Your World Is About to Get a Whole Lot Smaller, The End of Growth, and The Carbon Bubble. He was the Chief Economist at CIBC World Markets, where he worked for over 20 years.
