Abstract Expressionism by Elena Kaia

EVT433214

Ongoing event running from: Wed Jan 01, 2020 - Fri Jan 31, 2020

Location

Bloor/Gladstone

The main subject of Elena's work is the flow of the mindful moments. Embracing experimentation and chance, she creates abstract paintings that study light, achromatic colors, and movement. She creates these pieces to work through personal and creative struggles while feeling liberated, transferring what was inside onto canvas.

Elena engages her full body to move while applying a medium onto a canvas in a sort of dance-like manner, since dancing was one of the other creative activities she used to do during child- and teenagehood. Making art for Elena is a means of practicing being in the now, staying present and feeling connection among her mind, spirit, and body.
