The "Red Island", the "Eighth Continent", the "Island of Lemurs"- no matter what you call it Madagascar is the most singular place in the world. Separated from the mainland of Africa for over 130 million years Madagascar has been an evolutionary experiment on steroids. From leaping lemurs to strange leaf-tailed geckos, did I mention web throwing spiders? Sadly, it is a country in peril and is considered one of the highest conservation priorities on the planet. Find out what makes Madagascar so cool, what is threatening this amazing island, and what Travis Steffens via Planet Madagascar is doing about it.

Biography: Travis is the Regional Director of the Explorers Club and founding Executive Director of Planet Madagascar. Travis has spent years studying primates in the wilds of Belize and Madagascar and now focusses his on the intersection of primate conservation, human health, and environmental health.
