Learn where to look, who to contact and how to use research tools to begin an exciting exploration of your roots. Meet with fellow genealogists once a week to understand the genealogy research process and the ways to interpret your findings. This course is offered by GALE Learning Online, and will take place in Learning Centre 2, on the Main Floor of the Toronto Reference Library.

Learning circles at the library are study groups guided by staff for people who want to take a free online course together in a welcoming space. Learners meet weekly and work together through the course material. The Library will facilitate the session by having weekly meet-ups for anyone who wants to discuss, practice, and clarify the materials from the online course.

Note that, while the librarian facilitating the course has some knowledge of the material, their role is primarily to foster discussion rather than teach. Participants are expected to commit to the duration of the course and learning circle.
