To be considered for a position you must meet all of the stated qualifications and markedly demonstrate that you have met them through experience or education. In accordance with the collective agreement between the Toronto Public Library Board and the Toronto Public Library Workers' Union Local 4948, external temporary employees can work a maximum of six months. Union dues will be deducted.

All applications must be received (by mail, fax or email) by midnight on the day of closing.

If you are interested in applying for an available position, please follow these instructions:

  1. Download and complete the External Application Form (DOC). Each posting requires a separate application.
  2. Identify the posting number (if applicable) clearly on your cover letter, resume and/or in the subject heading if using email.
  3. Use one of the following methods to submit your application:

      The date received in the Human Resources Department is the official date of receipt.

      The Posting Number (if applicable) should be quoted in the subject line of all email submissions and retain your original email.

  5. Do not send duplicates.
  6. Receipt of applications will not be acknowledged.
