Series & Sequels

Ever since the publication of J. R. R. Tolkien's The lord of the rings trilogy, the fantasy and science fiction genres have tended to publish novels in multi-volume series. These series and subseries, sequels and prequels can become confusing!

The Merril Collection's staff maintains a Series & Sequels checklist which is a comprehensive and current list of multivolume series in science fiction and fantasy. This list is not available in print or online but is maintained at the Merril Collection of Science Fiction, Speculation and Fantasy.
