Baldwin Room
An extensive collection of material on the history of Canada, including broadsides & printed ephemera, books, pamphlets, periodicals, manuscripts, historical pictures (including the John Ross Robertson collection) and newspapers. For use at the Toronto Reference Library.
Canadiana Collection
A large and comprehensive collection of genealogical research materials. Also includes collections documenting the historical and cultural development of Canada, including railroad memorabilia, pulp fiction, and books with fine printing and illustration and more. At the North York Central Library.
Genealogy & Local History Collection
An extensive collection of genealogical resources. The strength of this collection is its Canadian content but you will also find many resources for Great Britain, Ireland and the United States, particularly the north-eastern states. For use at the Toronto Reference Library.
Local History Resources
Discover books, newspapers and pictures about Toronto's neighbourhoods at local library branches that serve them. Some library publications are available for purchase or borrowing.

Osborne Collection of Early Children's Books
Discover over 80,000 rare and notable modern children's books. The collection includes book-related art, literary archives, games and ephemera. At the Lillian H. Smith branch.
Periodicals and Newspapers Centre
Offers access to several thousand periodicals, magazines, academic journals, newsletters and bulletins. The collection contains both current and retrospective materials, in English and many other languages. For use at the Toronto Reference Library.
Rita Cox Black and Caribbean Heritage Collection
Featuring over 16,000 print and audiovisual materials for adults, children and teens about the Black and Caribbean historical and cultural experience – with special emphasis on Canadian material. At the Cedarbrae, Maria A. Shchuka,
Parkdale and York Woods library branches.
