This list provides a basic collection of medical books that are useful in consumer health collections at an estimated cost of $1900.00 (prices are given in Canadian dollars unless otherwise indicated). Individual prices do not include taxes, unless otherwise indicated. Taxes (7% GST, 8% PST) and a 10% exchange rate for U.S. currency were applied to the total amount. The list consists of consumer or lay language material, as well as several basic professional texts.
This collection should address many of the health questions received by public and consumer health libraries.
