Bring your laptop or other wireless device (must be 802.11 b/g
compliant) and connect to Toronto Public Library.

Customers are asked to agree to the Toronto Public Library Wireless Internet Access Service Guidelines before connecting:

Users of the wireless Internet service are bound by the terms of Toronto Public Library's Rules of Conduct and Internet Use Policy.Users will not be directed to the wireless network unless they agree to these terms and conditions.

The Library's wireless access points are unsecured connections to the Internet. The Library is not responsible for data transmitted or loss of information over the wireless network. Users should be aware that third parties may be able to obtain information about users' activities when using the wireless service to connect to the Internet. The Library assumes no responsibility for the security and privacy of on-line transactions.

The service will support devices that use the 802.11b/g protocol, which is the main standard used for wireless access on laptop computers. PDAs (personal digital assistants) may use different standards, but will work if they have an 802.11b or g card.

Wireless users are responsible for the protection of their devices from viruses, spyware and spam.

The Library is not responsible for the safety of equipment or for laptop configurations.

The Library provides basic instructions on how to connect to the network but is not able to provide technical assistance.

Printing is not available from the wireless connection.

Funding to support the wireless Internet service at Toronto Public Library was
generously provided by Citizenship and Immigration Canada.
