February
Linda Briskin has been taking pictures for years. This exhibition PHOTOGLOSSIA includes selections from several series. Winter in Colour envisions an alternative colourscape for winter, reminding us that the landscape is invented through our gaze. Ode to Julia Margaret Cameron is based on an 1866 photograph by Cameron titled "Mountain Nymph, Sweet Liberty". Green Narratives seek light, lines, shadows and reflections, and the play of figure-ground in the multiple greens of nature. WaterGarden moves from the concrete to increasingly abstract and constructed representations of water and garden. The multi-layered photographs of Palimpsest juxtapose real objects and unreal reflections, and highlight the ambiguity in what we choose to see. Visit the photographer’s website. |
