Heritage Language Programs

Also known as international language programs, these heritage programs give students (up to grade 8) the chance to learn the languages of their choice while they develop an appreciation of other cultures.

Both the Toronto District School Board and the Toronto Catholic District School Board offer heritage language programs.

The Toronto District School Board

The Elementary International Language Program (ILP) is free for students in Juniour Kindergarten through to grade eight. These heritage programs take place outside the regular school hours and run for two and a half hours each week.

The Toronto Catholic District School Board

All classes at this school board run on Saturday mornings from 9:30 a.m. to 12:00 noon, unless otherwise indicated. An enrolment of at least 25 children is required.
