Creepy Halloween Reads

October 2017

October is one of my favourite months because the countdown to Halloween can officially begin! And though I don't love scary movies I do like to read the occasional creepy book. Here are a few that I'm looking forward to reading this month:

Nightmares! by Jason Segel Charlie isn't a big fan of his stepmom - and he definitely doesn't like her spooky, purple mansion. Is the house the reason why he's been having frightful nightmares, or does it have something to do with his new family member? Charlie and his friends need to figure out what's happening to keep his nightmares from becoming a reality.

The Cavendish Home for Boys and Girls by Claire Legrand When Victoria's friend Lawrence goes missing she knows where to go looking: the home for orphan boys and girls run by Mrs. Cavendish. There's something strange about the Cavendish home though - kids go in and come out completely different. Or they never come out.

The Night Gardener by Jonathan Auxier Molly and her brother, Kip, have been hired as servants at a mysterious, crumbling mansion in England. Strangely, the people living in the mansion seem to be getting paler and weaker with each passing day. Does the ugly tree growing into the house have anything to do with this?

Reader, beware! You might be in for a scare.
