Bloor/Gladstone Branch Renovation and Expansion Project
Bloor/Gladstone branch will be closed for renovations effective Saturday, December 30 2006. The branch will reopen in mid-July 2009.
This beautiful historical facility, when reopened, will feature exciting service enhancements:
A much larger library: The new glass addition will add over 9,000 square feet, featuring a two storey curtain wall providing a striking street presence and view into the library.
A library that is easier to use: Complete barrier-free accessibility to the building, a family washroom and public washrooms on both levels and express check-out.
More to enjoy: Bigger collections - thousands of new books, CDs, magazines and DVDs.
Your home away from home: Reading lounges for adults and children and a funky vibrant teen zone; bookable meeting and quiet study room as well as three group study rooms.
A greener building: A new environmentally friendly green roof on the addition and extensive expanded outdoor landscaping with the addition of 20 newly planted trees.
