Beaches Branch Renovation Project

On Thursday, January 20, 2005, the renovated and expanded Beaches Library, 2161 Queen St. East, opens to the public.

Look for:

A new 2000 square foot 2-storey addition
A complete restoration of the original 1915 Arts and Crafts style, incorporated into the brickwork, windows, circulation desk, lighting features, seating and shelving.
A bright, airy program and bookable community meeting room that can accommodate up to 60 people
Books, videos, CDs, DVDs, audiobooks, magazines and newspapers
Best Bets (new popular materials available for one week loan)
Local History materials
A new bright children's area
A new vibrant Teen Zone
Computers with free Internet access

Hours of operation:

Monday to Friday 10 a.m. - 8:30 p.m.
Saturday 9 a.m. - 5 p.m.

An official opening ceremony and other events were taken place on Saturday, January 22, 2005.
