Historical Background

1961
Todmorden Room officially opened by the Township of East York Public Library Board at the East York Community Centre, October.

1966
Room enlarged

1995
Closed for 17 months while the community centre was renovated. A deposit collection, available four hours/twice a week, was placed at Don Mills United Church, Pape Avenue and O'Connor Drive, northwest corner.

1997
Reopened 17 January.

2003
Refurbished. Closed 23 June to 1 July.

2007
Hours open per week increased on 8 January from 27 to 40.

2008
With the re-opening of S. Walter Stewart District Branch on 29 May, open hours per week for Todmorden Room decreased from 40 to 28.
