Eastern Branch opened 31 October. Located in rented premises at Poulton's
Block, west side of Bolton Avenue, north of Queen Street East.
1903
Toronto's Carnegie Libraries - Riverdale
Carnegie Corporation of New York granted $350,000 to TPL for a new central
library and 3 branch buildings.
1909
Site acquired Gerrard Street East, northwest corner of Broadview Avenue.
1910
Eastern Branch closed. Riverdale Branch opened 19 October. Robert McCallum,
City Architect.
1927
Boys and Girls room addition opened 23 January. W. S. Butler, Architect.
1969
Retrofitted following fire.
1977
Listed on Toronto Historical Board's Inventory of Heritage Properties, adopted by City Council, 6 February.
