Historical Background

1962
Bathurst Heights Branch opened by the North York Public Library Board, 23 January. Officially opened, 8 April. Located at 3170 Bathurst Street, one block north of Lawrence Avenue West. Freedman, Petroff, Zeruzalski Architects.

1966
Bathurst Heights Branch enlarged to regional/area size.

1992
Bathurst Heights Regional Library closed and demolished. Replaced by Barbara Frum District Library at the present location. Officially opened, 24 September. Phillip H. Carter Architect. Named in honour of Barbara Frum (1937-1992), the distinguished broadcaster and journalist.

2007
Hours open per week increased on 8 January from 59 to 59.5.
