Renewing Materials

During open hours, you can also renew your items by calling Answerline: 416-393-7131 or your local branch.

To renew items online:
1. Sign in to your account.
2. Check the boxes beside the items you would like to renew.
3. Click the Renew Selected button.

You can renew an item twice, with the exception of music scores and items from picture collections, which can be renewed once.

The renewal period starts on the day you renew an item. It does not start as of the original due date.

What you can't renew:

  • items already renewed twice
  • items on hold for someone else
  • Best Bets items
  • items borrowed through Interlibrary Loan
  • new English feature film DVDs (less than 6-months old)

When you have reached the limit allowed for overdue items, lost items, or fines, you will be unable to renew any items
