What's included on the lists?
Books, audiobooks, CDs, and DVDs for adults, children and teens which are available for placing holds or for checkout

What's not included on the lists?
Items that the library has ordered but not yet received. These "On Order" items do appear in the library catalogue and holds can be placed on these titles before the library receives them.

When are the lists scheduled to run?
Updated lists are posted on the 15th of every month.
An automated report feature has been set up to capture all newly processed titles meeting the following criteria:
  • New items from the previous 31 days
  • With a publication date greater than 2007 [except for audiobooks which may have a publication date a year from the date of the report].

Why aren't some DVDs available to put on hold?
There is a 6 month no-holds period for some new DVDs, usually for feature movies that played in a movie theatre or were theatrically released.
Every month, as new feature DVDs reach the end of their no-holds restriction period, they will appear on the new DVDs titles list.

How can I place a hold on a title if there is no hold button for it?
If a title appears on the list without a hold button, click on the Title link to go to the Item Detail screen to place a hold.

Do On Order items appear on the lists?
No, items that the library has ordered but not yet received are not included.
These On Order items do appear in the library catalogue and holds can be placed on these titles before the library receives them.

Why do titles with publication dates prior to 2008 appear on the lists?
Sometimes the library orders new copies of titles already in the library catalogue. When we run the reports for Our Newest Titles lists, these additional copies display as new titles.
