Branch History


1958 Deposit collection placed in the Malvern Post Office, available during post office hours.
1982 Malvern Community Branch opened in Malvern Community Recreation Centre and Library by the Scarborough Public Library Board, 13 October. Architect, A.M. Ingleson Associates.
1999 Sunday opening initiated 17 October.
2003 Closed 9 June for renovation and expansion, Phillip H. Carter Architect and Kingsland & Architects Inc., (in joint venture). Bookmobile service provided 4 hours per week.
2005 Bookmobile service closed. Malvern branch opened 6 January.
2007 Open hours per week increased on 8 January, from 50 to 59.5.
2008 October 6 - Rita Cox Black & Caribbean Heritage Collection moved permanently to Malvern from Cedarbrae District Library.
