Library Catalogue Update
June 3 , 2008

What have we been doing since our last update?
  • Listening to you - We have spent a great deal of time reviewing the feedback we've received about the library catalogue. We have updated our FAQ pages based on your comments
  • Planning functional and design improvements - In order to visualize how the catalogue could be better, we start by outlining potential changes on wireframes and developing design mock-ups

  • Focusing on "Your Account" and usability - Most of what we have heard from you relates to how Your Account works and the overall usability of the catalogue. This is where we plan to implement improvements first

  • Testing - We've been doing both functional and usability testing to ensure that the changes we plan to make are real improvements

We are happy to report that these changes will be implemented by the end of the summer.

    Our Newest Titles
Check back regularly. As more lists become available, they will be added. For more info on why you can’t see all the new titles, read the FAQ on this topic.
  • You can see if an item is ‘In Transit’ to fill your hold request from Your Account

  • If you are signed in and placing a hold, your home branch will be automatically set as your hold pick-up location

  • You can now click the title of your checked-out items or holds in Your Account and see the full details about the title

  • You can now sort the lists of checked out items and holds in Your Account

  • You can now see the format (e.g. DVD) of your checked-out and hold items in Your Account

  • You can now see your position in the holds queue (e.g. 38 of 123) relative to all the holds for the item in Your Account

You told us these lost features were important, so they have been our focus over the last several weeks. But rest assured, we’re not done. To learn more about what we are still working on, please check out the FAQ/Known Issues.
