Over eleven million books, videos, CDs, magazines, newspapers, DVDs, cassettes...

Toronto Public Library has 99 branches offering over eleven million items for use by anyone with a library card. Library materials come in over 100 languages and in many formats, including books, CDs, videos, DVDs, magazines and newspapers. The library also provides electronic information like: online encyclopedias and full text magazine and newspaper databases available both in the library and on the Internet through the Virtual Reference Library a guide to Internet sites, arranged by subject and selected by librarians at the Virtual Reference Library

If you can't find what you're looking for:

  • ask staff at your local branch for help
  • call Answerline at 416-393-7131

If we don't have what you're looking for, you can suggest that we buy it. Just fill out the request form available at your local branch

If you find something in the collection you don't think the public library should own, fill out the form available at your local branch

All suggestions about items the library should buy or remove are reviewed by library staff according to the Materials Selection Policy

Staff respond to all requests.

Requests to buy or remove materials cannot be accepted through email.
